All That Poetry

Happy Birthday to Lord Alfred Tennyson
"Half a league, half a league, half a league onward,
all in the valley of death rode the six hundred.
Forward, the Light Brigade! Charge for the guns! he said:
Into the valley of Death rode the six hundred."

Gotta love that poem! - Raj

I think we had a fair share of tragic poetry didn't we...Charge of the Light Brigade, Passing of King Arthur, The Highwayman etc.

There's another that I can't remember the title of...revolves round a prisoner of war 's last night (his life passing before his eyes) and he's shot in the morning as the sunrises.

Remember those inter class Verse Speaking Competitions? Do they still have them?
